Dredd vs Zombies (Version 1.6)

Publisher Rebellion sure seems to know how to make solid mobile games. They currently only have two games on the market but they're both extremely well polished. Dredd vs Zombies was the first of their offerings which I actually tried out. In this game you control your character through a small map as you navigate your way through corridors filled with spawning zombies. There is a ton of action and a bit of strategy and the overall experience leaves you wanting more.
Dredd vs Zombies is simply a wonderfully created third-person shooter. The controls are laid out well, with a virtual d-pad coming up wherever you touch the screen on the left and an easily accessible fire and reload button on the right. Aiming is taken care of automatically, as it targets any hostile nearby, and it works extremely well in this action packed game. I didn't have any instances where I found the auto-aim frustrating at all.
As you progress through the corridors of a stage shooting down the spawning zombies, you can build up your Dredd badge meter which gives you more points, ultimately earning you a three-medal finish for the stage. Since the Dredd meter goes down with no killing activity there are medals laying around which you pick up to boost up your meter as you progress. Also, using the explosive barrels to kill multiple enemies will give you extra points and build up your meter that much more, so a little bit of strategy may be needed if you're a perfectionist looking for a three-medal finish for each stage.
After finishing each level you can upgrade and choose different weapons for your zombie killing spree and you also have the option of picking three special equipment items to help you on your mission before entering a stage. There's plenty of upgrade and customization options to keep you occupied for a while and vary your game play. The stages are short and sweet, just like Guns4Hire, making Dredd vs Zombies yet another solid mobile game from Rebellion.
Pros : Excellent game play, solid graphics, good replay value/upgrade options
Cons : None
