WP App Review : Where's My Perry?

Where's My Perry? (Version 1.0.2)
Disney
$0.99

Disney's Where's My Perry? has been a steady top-rated app for a while but for some reason I just never got around to checking it out. Since they're currently offering it free, along with their other app Where's My Water?, I decided to download both.

Where's My Perry? is a fun puzzle game where you must use touch gestures to dig through dirt and guide a pool of water to a container so that Perry the platypus can travel through a pipe and progress to the next stage. Like many other similar puzzle games of this type, the premise is simple, but as you progress further along there are variations and puzzle-like elements in the stages that make it more difficult to guide the water to it's intended destination.

The touch controls are extremely basic and therefore provides a smooth game playing experience. Touch any part of the dirt in the stage and it'll clear it out; by doing so you can guide the pool of water to the end destination. The stages start out simple enough with a straight-forward path. But soon enough other elements are added in such as lasers which turn the water into vapor or ice blocks which will freeze the water or turn vapor back into water. These different elements will force you to think out your strategy to successfully guide the water to the container holding Perry.

As you guide the water or vapor through the dirt, it can make contact with up to three gnomes. If a specific amount passes through them then you'll be able to "collect" them. Trying to collect all the gnomes will take a bit more planning along with quick thinking in certain scenarios. Whether you decide to go for the gnomes or straight to the end container, you'll have to keep in mind that you'll always have to have a certain amount of water/vapor go through or Perry won't be able advance or you won't able to collect the gnome. This can sometimes create a problem since the water can get caught in dead ends, splash off-screen, or get frozen. Some stages also have "sludge" which will both interfere with your water's progress as well as aid you.

There are a ton of levels in the game (240 listed) which will keep you occupied for a long time. Of course, there is also a bit of a storyline as you play through the stages which can be entertaining. Overall, Where's My Perry? is a solid puzzle game with clean graphics and entertaining game play.

Pros : Fun, addicting game play, solid graphics and controls
Cons : None
