If you haven't taken notice of your phone's storage, go ahead and check it out right now. Go into "Settings", "Phone Storage", then click on "Phone" to see the breakdown on where your data is spread out on your phone. Like many users, you may notice that your "Other" section is abnormally large. There is no way to clear this and Shrink Storage is an app that tries to help free up some space in this "Other" section.

I tried to clear up some of this "Other" data which is currently at 8GB on my Lumia 920. The app fills the phone with random data until the OS notifies you that the phone's data storage is low. It took a good 25 minutes or so for the app to fill the phone with random data on my phone. After restarting the phone and clicking the "Clean Phone Storage", it's suppose to help clear out a good portion of the "Other" data. However, it didn't work at all for me and my "Other" storage remained at 8GB.

Others have reported some success in clearing out a few GB's of data off the "Other" section so it wouldn't hurt to try.
